GHRP-6

Growth Hormone / IGF-1 Axis
Phase 2
Investigational

GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a six-amino-acid peptide that triggers growth hormone release through the ghrelin (hunger hormone) receptor. It is known for strong growth hormone release but also significant appetite stimulation.

Overview of GHRP-6

Potently activates ghrelin receptors to stimulate robust growth hormone release, with significant appetite stimulation as a secondary effect.

Growth hormone axis

Potent agonist of growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a), mimicking effects of endogenous ghrelin.

Produces substantial GH release, often higher than newer, more selective peptides, with peak GH occurring 15-30 minutes post-injection.

Synergizes with GHRH analogs (like Sermorelin or CJC-1295), as combined use produces greater GH release than either alone.

Appetite & metabolism

Strong activation of hypothalamic hunger centers, causing significant appetite increase.

May modestly increase cortisol and prolactin levels (unlike more selective secretagogues), with effects that are generally transient
